Volunteering is the opposite of living in the rat race: Rat race living is trying to GET more and more and losing the quality things that truly fulfil you. A shout out to all the kids who are getting it!
Cheryl Glashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17951900702247351159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7137599217518476917.post-72443018119192159922010-04-20T12:46:58.788-07:002010-04-20T12:46:58.788-07:00Hi I actually live on the Chartreuse mountains in ...Hi I actually live on the Chartreuse mountains in France. They are across the valley from the beginning of the French Alps (Belldonne)and are quite lovely! Anyway, just to let you know that the Monastary has been rebuilt many many times since the order was first created. It is still here and you can walk up to the gates and around the area. There is an amazing museum which shows examples of the monk's room and how they first created the liqueur. If you ever get a chance to take your kid to France, be sure to stop in Grenoble and go see the Monasty. Truely worth the visit! And you can buy some chartreause liquer and also chocolate with chartreuse liquer in it :) They are very proud of it. The factory where they currently produce it is also nearby.
Great blog. ...My FB comment on the day of that story:
---------
NPR story this morning made me realize that my move to Seattle 5 years ago coincided with the disappearance of my environmental allergies AND likely the acquisition of my little friend diphyllobothrium (tapeworm, NW salmon sushi). Hygiene hypothesis at work? Sure, Seattle has different trees, etc... but why am I no longer allergic to cats?
--------
Was I sneezing at all at your house in January? Not a bit. Come on up and join me for some sushi!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18322563243862014568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7137599217518476917.post-25202886976833884132010-04-18T16:39:48.993-07:002010-04-18T16:39:48.993-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18322563243862014568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7137599217518476917.post-77432603519153628262009-12-16T05:06:17.504-08:002009-12-16T05:06:17.504-08:00Hi, my name is Ava and I'm the blog moderator ...Hi, my name is Ava and I'm the blog moderator at TheReefTank.com. That is what my friends and i are planing to do. As sophomores in High School currently have about 100 bottles (we just started Monday) We are planning on going out and buying Styrofoam to put into the bottles in case they leak or anything. We were also wondering where it is purchased and for how much. Your article showed me a lot, and instead of throwing it away we will use it. =]seth7123https://www.blogger.com/profile/03524885091298842109noreply@blogger.com
